Trevi Fountain in Rome.
Located in the district of Trevi, the Fontana di Trevi (translated in English as, Trevi Fountain), is the largest 18th century Baroque-styled fountain found anywhere in the world. Set against the backdrop of the 16th century Palazzo Poli, it remains one of Rome, Italy’s most famous landmarks.
The district of Trevi can be a great place to explore on foot. However, if you are traveling from outside the local area, the Rome Metro Line A has a stop at nearby Barberini Station. The walking time from Barberini Station to Trevi Fontain is about 10 minutes. Or, if you are taking the bus, several bus routes make stops near the fountain along Via del Tritone, Via del Traforo, and Via Barberini. These include Rome Metro bus lines 52, 53, 62, 63, 71, 100, 117 and 119. To take an Uber or taxi from Roma Termini to Trevi Fontain, would cost around 20 EUR with a transit time of under 10 minutes.

One of these, Palazzo del Quirinale, is a former royal and papal residence that now serves as the home of Italy’s President. To the west, the Pantheon is less than 10 minutes by foot. Traveling to the east will take you into the district of Monti, where you can find the Museo Nazionale Romano and Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, an iconic 19th century opera theatre. The Monti district of Rome is also well known for its high-end restaurants, shops and cafes.
