Pantheon in Rome.
The Pantheon is an Ancient Roman 2nd Century temple dedicated to all the gods. It has been serving as a Catholic Church since in the 7th Century. It is one of the most well-preserved sites from the Ancient Roman era and one of the world’s most architecturally influential rotunda buildings.
There are plenty of options for getting to the Pantheon on Rome's public transit system, the Rome Metro. Tram line 8 of the Rome Metro makes a stop at Argentina station. From here it is a 5-minute walk directly north to the Pantheon. Several bus routes, including the 30, 40, 62, 64, 81, and 87 lines all make stops along Corso Vittorio Emanuele II and Corso del Rinascimento. These are within a 5-minute walking distance of the Pantheon. The closest Metro Line stop is the Line A at Barberini Station. It is approximately a 20-minute walk to the Pantheon, but traveling southwest you will also pass by Trevi Fontain and several local art galleries and museums. Rome Metro bus passes can be purchased for under 2 EUR on a one-way ride with unlimited transfers for 100 minutes. Multiple-use and multi-day passes are also available for an additional cost.
The Pantheon is a good exhibit to explore by foot and as part of visiting other nearby attractions. Located within the Centro Storico district of historic Ancient Rome, there are many great tourist attractions nearby. To the west, is Piazza Navona, featuring the Church of Sant’Agnese in Agone and several famous baroque designs, shops and cafes. It is only a 10-minute walk from the Pantheon. Travel to the east, and in under 10 minutes you can reach Trevi Fontain. Travel to the southeast, and you will reach Musei Capitolini on your way to the Roman Forum and the Colosseum. The total distance to walk between the Pantheon and the Colosseum is under 2 km and will typically take less than 30 minutes.
