Piazza Navona is one of Italy’s most famous public squares, located in Rome’s historic city centre. Several buses make stops along Corso del Rinascimento, immediately next to the public square. These includes bus lines 30, 70, 81, and 87. The tram line 8 also makes a stop at nearby Argentina station, only a 5-minute walk from the piazza.
Barberini Station is the nearest metro station to Piazza Navona. It serves the Line A (red line) and is a 25-minute walk, but passes by several popular landmarks including Trevi Fontain and the Pantheon. Alternatively, a taxi or Uber ride between Piazza Navona and Barberini station could save time, at an expected transit of 10 minutes, but cost between 10 to 15 EUR depending on the time of day and local traffic conditions.
There are several churches in the local area besides the Church of Sant’Agnese in Agone. These include the Chiesa di Santa Maria della Pace, Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, San Luigi dei Francesi, and the Basilica di Sant’Agonstino.
Other popular landmarks nearby include a gladiator’s museum, Museo Dei Gladiatori, Stadium of Domitian, and a branch of the Museo Nazionale Romano, Palazzo Altemps. This piazza also has many restaurants, cafes, and shops for you to explore.
