While the majority of the tourist sites are located in the central parts of Copenhagen, there are some alternatives found outside the city center – and in some cases outside the entire town. For example if you head about 15-20 minutes south you find both the National Aquarium and exhibition center Bella Center, while amusement park Bakken is located about 17 kilometers north of the city center.
A couple of other districts that can be worth visiting are the multicultural Nørrebro with its unique food scene and family friendly Østerbro which is the greenest part of town.
To experience the different tourist sites in Copenhagen a great alternative is to go by bike (or even walk). The city is fairly small and getting around on two wheels is a perfect way to get from one place to another.
If you prefer, Copenhagen also has a well developed metro system that runs 24 hours a day divided on four different lines. This will get you to most parts of town in no time no matter what you are interested in seeing. To top it off there are several hop-on hop-off buses where you can get a guided tour of the city’s most popular tourist attractions.
